Florida Scholastic Press Association District Workshop
Future Journalists Take the Spotlight at FSPA District 7 Workshops
The Florida Scholastic Press Association (FSPA) District 7 Workshops bring together student journalists, editors, broadcasters, filmmakers, and advisers for a day of creativity, collaboration, and inspiration. Hosted this year at Nova Southeastern University, the workshops provide a unique opportunity for students to step onto a college campus and experience what university life is like while developing their skills in media and communication.
Throughout the day, attendees will participate in hands-on sessions and interactive presentations led by local journalists, media professionals, and college professors. From reporting and storytelling to photography, broadcast production, and leadership, these sessions are designed to help student media programs kick off the school year strong and inspired.
Students will have the chance to:
● Learn from award-winning journalists and professors ● Attend specialized workshops in journalism, film, photography, yearbook, and broadcast media
● Network with peers from other schools across South Florida ● Explore potential college pathways and gain insights into careers in media and communications
