Our students competed amongst hundreds of schools on a national stage at the Student Television Network annual competition - and they delivered. WBTV earned placements across five categories, including a 1st place finish in Weather Report, a 2nd place finish in Crazy 8 Short Documentary, three Honorable Mentions, and a nomination at the Excellence Awards. We couldn't be more proud of every student who represented WBTV.
We’re thrilled to share that WBTV had an outstanding presence at the 2025 All-American High School Film Festival this October in New York City. One of our talented teams earned recognition as a 2025 Film Invitational: Complete Experience Finalist, a remarkable distinction among top student filmmakers from across the globe. Our second team also showcased their creativity and dedication, gaining valuable hands-on production experience and professional insight throughout the competition. In addition, two of our student films were featured as Official Selections, proudly representing West Broward on the international stage and highlighting the incredible storytelling talent within our program.
Our students have been hard at work in Crazy 8s, an intense creative challenge designed to sharpen their storytelling skills and prepare them for upcoming competitions. In just eight hours, teams brainstorm, shoot, and edit a complete short film - pushing their creativity and collaboration to the limit. These behind-the-scenes experiences give students a chance to practice under real competition conditions while building confidence, teamwork, and technical know-how. It’s an exciting way to see their ideas come to life on screen!
