Meet Ayden Kostzer, a proud graduate of West Broward High School c/o 2023, and a rising filmmaker making her mark at one of the most prestigious film schools in the country. During her time at West Broward, Ayden served as WBTV's Competition Coordinator and President, helping lead the program to new heights before taking her passion for storytelling to the next level.
Life at FSU Film
Ayden is currently a senior at Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts, where she specializes in First Assistant Directing and Producing. FSU Film is widely regarded as one of the top film programs in the nation, and Ayden has made the most of every opportunity it has offered. Since arriving on campus, she has immersed herself in the full scope of film production — working in every role found on a professional set, from pre-production through post.
Her hands-on experience has been extensive: Ayden has written and directed three short films of her own, while simultaneously supporting many others in key crew roles. That breadth of experience — both in front of the process and behind it — reflects the same leadership and dedication she brought to WBTV.
The Thesis Capstone
Ayden is currently in production on her thesis capstone film, the culminating project of her time at FSU Film. Set to wrap in the 2026-2027 school year, the capstone represents the full expression of everything she has learned and grown into as a filmmaker. We can't wait to see what she brings to the screen.
From WBTV to the World
Ayden's journey is a powerful reminder of what WBTV makes possible. The skills she developed as a student leader — coordinating competitions, managing a team, and telling stories under pressure — laid the foundation for everything she is doing now. She remains a proud and committed supporter of the program, and we are so grateful to have her in the WBTV family.
