We’re a dedicated group of parents, alumni, and supporters working to champion the talents of our student filmmakers. Through fundraising, volunteer efforts, and hands-on support, we help provide the resources and experiences that inspire students to dream big, tell bold stories, & shine on screen.
WBTV Brings Home the Hardware at STN
February 27 - March 3, 2026
Tampa, Florida
Our students competed amongst hundreds of schools on a national stage at the Student Television Network annual competition - and they delivered. WBTV earned placements across five categories, including a 1st place finish in Weather Report, a 2nd place finish in Crazy 8 Short Documentary, three Honorable Mentions, and a nomination at the Excellence Awards. We couldn't be more proud of every student who represented WBTV.
WBTV Presents: The Premiere & Silent Auction
Be Part of the Spotlight with a Donation
We're hosting our WBTV Premiere & Silent Auction, and we're looking for businesses to partner with us. Whether you own a business yourself or know someone who does, a donation to our silent auction is one of the most direct ways to invest in these students' futures. We're accepting all types of contributions including gift cards, gift baskets, professional services, event tickets, products and merchandise. Your generosity doesn't just fill an auction table - it puts your name in front of our entire school community, on our social channels, and on the big screen on Premiere night.

Florida Scholastic Press Association State Convention
April 9 - 11, 2026

Each year, more than 1,500 student journalists gather in Orlando for the FSPA State Convention—an immersive three-day event packed with hands-on contests, expert-led workshops, and statewide awards. Hosted at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld, the convention offers real-time reporting challenges, skill-building sessions in design, video, photography, and social media, plus fun evening activities and networking that bring Florida’s journalism community together.

January Bobcat Broadcast
The January Bobcat Broadcast takes a deeper dive beneath the surface to uncover what our community has to offer beyond what meets the eye. From a local barbershop dedicated to helping customers not only look their best but feel their best, to residents who take pride in supporting small businesses at the neighborhood farmers market, to a beloved diner that keeps its rich history alive - this episode highlights the people and places that give our community its heart and character.
Broward Teen News
We’re proud to share that WBTV students had the incredible opportunity to produce Becon TV’s Broward Teen News on August 28. Led by producer Mady Remotigue and anchored by Addisyn Kostzer and Joseph Araujo, the broadcast featured a wide range of creative and thought-provoking stories from our talented members. Bravo to our team for shining on a county-wide platform!

Giancarlo Zarich c/o '24
We’re proud to spotlight alumnus Giancarlo Zarich, a rising filmmaker whose latest project, K/Casa, is currently fundraising on Seed&Spark. Inspired by his own multicultural identity, K/Casa blends supernatural storytelling with heartfelt reflections on grief, family, and belonging. Let’s rally behind Giancarlo as he works to amplify underrepresented voices in film.
